We're not hiring. But we're listening.
Right now EmployJoy is a small team focused on shipping. There are no open roles, no career page with a list of postings, no recruiters waiting to talk to you.
But if you've read what we're building and think you could help us — by writing code, designing the product, running the ops side, or in some way we haven't thought of yet — we'd still like to hear from you. The strongest people we've worked with came in through a project, a piece of work, or a conversation, not a job posting.
We hire when we find the right people. Not when we have the budget.
The way most companies hire is broken — which we know, since fixing it for cleaning companies is literally the product. We try to practice what we sell to our customers.
- 01
Small teams ship faster.
Every person we add is a real cost — not just salary, but coordination, meetings, and compromise on speed. We hire when not hiring would slow us down more than the new person speeds us up.
- 02
Generalists over specialists.
At our stage, the same person ships the AI scoring model on Monday and writes the customer onboarding email on Friday. If you need a lane defined, we're not the right team yet.
- 03
Work, then talk.
Our hiring conversations usually start with a piece of work — a small paid project, a problem we're stuck on, a prototype. Résumés tell us almost nothing. Watching how someone thinks tells us everything.
The kinds of people we'd add over the next year.
AI / ML engineer
Someone who can read our scoring model, understand the data, and ship improvements end-to-end. Comfort with production ML, not just notebooks.
Founding designer
Someone who treats the customer-facing surface (the magic-link page, the marketing site, the recruiter dashboard) as one cohesive product. Editorial taste, not template-driven.
Operations lead
Someone who can own the curation step — reviewing AI shortlists before they reach clients, building the playbook, training the next ops hires. Cleaning industry experience is a plus, not required.
Full-stack engineer
Someone who ships across our product and ML pipelines without needing tickets. Pragmatic over puristic.
Send us your work, not your résumé.
Email us at wells@employjoy.ai. Tell us, in two paragraphs or fewer, what you've built recently and why EmployJoy. Link to a project, a piece of writing, a portfolio — whatever lets us see how you think.
We read every message. We don't respond to all of them — if we don't reply within two weeks, it's because we don't have a fit right now, not because we didn't look. We'll keep your message and reach out if something changes.
